Robert is the Deputy Chief Economist at First Trust Advisors, L.P., where he oversees U.S. economic forecasts and writes economic commentaries. Before joining First Trust in 2006, he was Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the U.S. Treasury, where he advised the Treasury Secretary and helped develop the official economic forecast for the President's budget. Bob previously served as chief economist for the Senate Budget Committee and worked as an economic journalist. He holds a BA in Economics and Government from Georgetown University and has been a CFA charterholder since 2003.
