Brian Foster is a dedicated Managing Director at Garcia, Barnblatt, Foster of TSG Wealth Management, bringing over 16 years of experience in the financial industry. His journey began right after college in 2005, driven by a passion for working with numbers and helping people understand how investment planning and investing can shape their futures. Brian finds fulfillment in assisting clients with reducing anxiety and ensuring they have solid plans in place to achieve their long-term goals.
Born in Bakersfield, CA in 1983, Brian’s childhood dreams initially revolved around sports. He aspired to become a professional baseball player before being inspired by the world of sports agents after watching the movie Jerry Maguire.
Throughout his life, Brian has lived in various dynamic locations. He spent his formative years in Bakersfield and later moved to Los Angeles for college, attending Loyola Marymount University (LMU), where he played for the Loyola Rugby team and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. In 2005, he ventured to San Francisco, where he began his career in the financial industry at Ameriprise. In 2012, Brian transitioned to Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA), remaining in San Francisco. Recently, he relocated to San Anselmo when he and his wife welcomed their son, James, into the world. In 2022, they made another move to Bend, OR, embracing new adventures as a family. And in 2023 he and his partners made the jump to join TSG Wealth Management to offer greater flexibility and the ability to help even more clients with their financial futures.
When he’s not immersed in the financial world, Brian enjoys playing golf, which has been a favorite hobby of his, but most importantly he enjoys spending quality time with his son, James. As James grows, Brian looks forward to introducing him to the world of golf and sharing unforgettable experiences on the course.
When it is time to escape for relaxation and rejuvenation, Lake Tahoe holds a special place in Brian’s heart. It is his favorite travel destination because of the picturesque scenery and serene surroundings.
Family is of paramount importance to Brian. He married his wife, Katrina, in a unique and memorable ceremony in June 2020. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, they exchanged vows over Microsoft Teams, with their loved ones witnessing the celebration via Zoom. They are proud parents to their “first child,” an adorable mini long-haired Dachshund named Kelsey and their son, James. After 10 years in nursing leadership, Katrina now runs her own healthcare consulting business.
Brian and Katrina are focused and committed to raising a healthy, happy, and compassionate son. As James grows older, Brian plans to become more involved in youth-focused causes centered around sports and education, aiming to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.
As a sports enthusiast, Brian passionately supports the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco 49ers. A juxtaposition for many in California with the NorCal SoCal rivalry of sorts, but he finds joy in following their successes and rooting for his favorite teams.
What Brian appreciates most about TSG is the team environment and culture. He feels a genuine sense of care and support from the leadership and support team, who are dedicated to the success of the advisors and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree from LMU and he has acquired several licenses and registrations, including Series 7 and 66 registrations, Insurance Licenses in California and Washington, and the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation.
