John Arensdorf, CFP®, Managing Director for TSG Wealth Management, is a seasoned finance professional with a passion for numbers and a dedication to helping people achieve their financial goals. Working out of TSG’s Manhattan Beach office, he combines the support and strength of the larger team with the flexibility and personalized service of a boutique wealth management firm. With a love for what he does, John finds motivation in providing exceptional service to his clients.
Born in Los Angeles in 1961, John didn’t always dream of being in the financial industry. As a child he dreamed of becoming a marine biologist, inspired by Jacques Cousteau and his adventures. In an effort to explore this dream and expand his horizons John joined the Navy out of high school. While in the Navy he took his first Econ class and from that point on he was hooked. He had discovered a new passion and after the Navy he enrolled in UC Santa Barbara to pursue his Econ degree. Post college John moved back to the South Bay of Los Angeles, an area he has now resided for most of his life, developing and deepening his roots in the community where he grew up and continues to serve.
John earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara in 1987 and holds the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification. His commitment to excellence has been recognized with accolades such as the Wells Fargo Platinum Council (2018-2022).
As a sports enthusiast, John’s allegiance lies with the UCLA Bruins. However, his passion extends beyond sports, John enjoys engaging in trivia and spending time with his family. He has been happily married to Karen for 23 years and is a proud father to three daughters: Dani, Livy, and Juju. Dani is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Livy is currently a sophomore at UC Santa Barbara, and Juju is a junior at Mira Costa High School.
John cherishes his role as a husband and father. He resides in Manhattan Beach with his family and actively involved in family life, having previously coached his daughters from age 5-12 in basketball, soccer, and softball. They have since moved on from his tutelage, but you can find him now cheering them on, whether it be in sports or in life. In his leisure time, he enjoys staying physically and mentally active and embarking on enriching travel experiences with his loved ones.
