Kristopher Raney, commonly known as Kris, is a highly accomplished Managing Director at TSG Wealth Management. With a career spanning over two decades, Kris ventured into the financial industry in 2001 driven by a deep curiosity to understand the intricate relationship between time, money, and health. His genuine desire to assist others in navigating their financial futures served as the catalyst for his journey as a financial advisor.
What Kris cherishes most about the financial industry and his role at TSG is the dynamic nature of his work. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities as he engages with the ever-evolving markets and caters to the unique needs, desires, and aspirations of his clients. This constant variety fuels his passion and keeps him motivated to excel.
Born in Los Angeles during the year of notable inventions like the smiley face and computer mouse, Kris embraces a positive and tech-savvy mindset. As a child, he aspired to be a professional athlete, dreaming of a career that would enable him to train and compete at the highest level.
Throughout his life, Kris has primarily resided in Southern California, immersing himself in the vibrant local culture. Additionally, he spent six months living in London, England, expanding his horizons and experiencing different ways of life.
Water polo has been a lifelong passion for Kris, who has played competitively for over 45 years. His commitment to the sport remains unwavering, and he envisions continuing to play around the world until the age of 80 and beyond. Beyond his athletic pursuits, Kris finds joy in exploring new travel destinations. While Europe holds a special place in his heart, he is excited about any upcoming adventure that lies ahead.
In his personal life, Kris is happily married for over 33 years and is the proud parent of two accomplished children who attended Stanford and USC. While he doesn’t have any pets or plants, his love for sports extends beyond individual teams, as he enthusiastically supports Team USA in various international competitions and cheers for local Los Angeles teams such as the Lakers, Rams, and UCLA.
Kris’s passion for giving back is evident through his involvement in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association for over 35 years. He actively participates in delivering the renowned Parade and Game, marking the start of each New Year with enthusiasm and commitment. Additionally, he volunteers his time and expertise to USA Water Polo, further demonstrating his dedication to the sports community.

Kris holds a Bachelor’s degree from Pomona College and an MBA from UCLA. He has earned several licenses and registrations, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification and multiple designations as a business retirement plan professional. Additionally, he is on track to complete his Master’s in Personal Financial Planning in 2023, further enhancing his expertise in the field.
